Considering that the developers really had no other time periods to place another game in, this is probably the next best thing. Taking place in between Episodes II and III, The Clone Wars follows Anakin and Obi-Wan’s exploits throughout this period, filling in a lot of the story between the episodes as well as following the animated series quite closely.
Despite being something I’m a little bit tired of, Lego Star Wars III manages to mix things up just a little bit to make it feel like a more substantial sequel rather than a reskinned reiteration of previous titles. And now, we have a third instalment in the franchise, based entirely on The Clone Wars. With the release of LEGO Star Wars and its sequel, followed by a compilation title, I was under the impression that we’d seen the last of the Star Wars franchise in LEGO form and that Traveller’s Tales would probably hold off. It had much better lighting, they were able to display more characters on screen at once and the facial animations really help get the story across.The LEGO series have always been pretty well thought out, but in more recent times I’ve felt they’ve really begun getting stale. This at the time was the best-looking of all the Lego games. Charming, You AreĪ huge part of the appeal of Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars and the Lego games, in general, is the charm that they have. Also, space battles are much improved over what was on offer in The Complete Saga. They also added in some cool new abilities such as being able to throw a Lightsaber.
One of which is a basic, but fun tactics-based battle mode where you can control vast numbers of troops at the same time. While the core gameplay may not have changed a great deal, they did add some interesting things. The gameplay is fun and it is a great game to play with kids. You will be hacking and slashing away at enemies, solving basic puzzles, and unlocking a ton of characters, there are actually over 100 characters which was the largest of any Lego game at the time. I have to be honest and say that for the most part, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars fits into that mold. One of the things that puts some people off with the Lego games is that the gameplay never really evolved for a long time. However, if you are going back to this it might be a bit of a letdown that some of the cooler events from the later games in the series are not included in the game. To be fair, this is due to when the game was being made. The story mainly takes place between the first two seasons of the show.
